Alex - diagnosed with throat cancer

Hi. Diagnosed with throat cancer last year. Had all the surgeries.  Life  changing they told me. They were right. Unfortunately today I am finding it hard to be my usual cheerful self but tomorrow will probably be OK. I am gay, living in Ireland and would like someone to talk to. I have never "come out". I have 2 of the most wonderful children, 1 boy, 1 girl...my best friends  and 4 grandchildren.  We skirt around the conversation.  My parents, brother and sisters are religious in their own way so the topic will never be mentioned although I have been told that my cancer was a punishment...but hey ho...I had fun. Just needed to get that off my chest and am feeling better already. Thanks for listening. If anyone wants to off load...feel free to message.

  • Hi I’m Hazel aka RadioactiveRaz. I’m 7 years post chemo radiotherapy . Glad yiu feel better by just posting in here. It’s a safe space for you to have a rant. About being  gay my uncle in the 1960s was gay it took him  years to come out when he did it was  a weight off his shoulders and in his 60s he met his soul mate , I can’t offer any advise but my motto is one live just live it.

glad you’ve recovered from throat cancer tigers ups and down in our treatment

    best wishes Hazel
