Just wondered if anyone else can actually feel their cancer? When I lay down to sleep it feels sort of numb where the cancer is. No pain as yet, but it’s as if I can feel it.

Hi Bushey-Herts,
I am so sorry to hear you have stage 4 cancer with mets in your spine and pelvis. Thank you for sharing your experience and I hope that you will hear from others on here who feel the same way as you and who can feel their cancer just as you described it. I am glad you are pain free at the moment but it must be an odd sensation to feel this numbness where the cancer is.
I will now let members of our community - many of whom I am sure will be able to relate to what you described - come and say hello and share their story with you.
If you feel any discomfort, don't hesitate to bring this up with your medical team and to tell them how you have this sensation that you can feel your cancer. They may have some helpful suggestions for you.
Best wishes,
Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
Hello, and to answer your question, Yes, I am also stage 4, and Yes, I can feel the cancer. Itching, tingling and numbness.
Hi Bushey Herts and Blue-girl. I have stage 4 cancer with mets in pelvis, spine, ribs and skull. I am in pain but I cant feel the cancer. It is strange we all have same thing but affects us differently.

how did you get diagnosed and are you having treatment.
thanks.
Hi
Thanks for taking the time to reply. It’s more when I lay down. Worry all the time that it is spreading, but I guess we are all in the same boat there.
best wishes

Hi Lee
thanks for taking the time to reply. I agree it is strange how differently we are affected. What pain meds are you on?
Best wishes
Della
Hi
i was diagnosed with stage IV last July because I kept getting a persistent pain in my coccyx. Several hospital and doctors visits later I then had a private scan where it had by then spread further! I am taking meds to hopefully slow it down.
What stage and what type of cancer do you have?
best wishes
Della
I get by biopsy results next Thursday. Does bone cancer spread and is your a secondary cancer.
it’s not easy I know.
I have been reading the side effects. They can’t be worse than the Chemo I was on 20 years ago.
do you have support.
my mind is calm for the moment. I hope you can find some peace.
thanks sooo much for your support.
Hi Sally
i believe any cancer can spread, but I am no doctor
i had breast cancer 12 years ago and was told that although I had a partial mastectomy, one rogue cell must have travelled. Hence getting cancer for a second time. What cancer did you have 20 years ago?
my family are very supportive, but I still have my bad days; today is one of them. I feel very ‘other’ and alone in this, even with their support.
sincerely hope you find some peace in this awful situation we find ourselves in.
Hi Della, I am on Ribociclib , Exemastane and 4 weekly Denosumab injections. I take Tramadol for the pain or have been prescribed morphine but I prefer tramadol but its makes me feel sick so I take cyclizine for that. Are you on the same?
