Is anyone on here been diagnosed with peritoneal cancer ?
Don't know yet if its spread will find out at end of 4th session ,yes just on thst st mo .What is HRD ?Nice to hear your living it up .Chemo OK, not had any bad side effects up to now .
it's called Homoglobus recombination deficiency. So a cell loses its ability to repair double strand DNA breaks. They should give you another CT scan see if the chemo is working.
I'll look that up .Yes aftermy 4th session I get one and see my consultant.and again after the 6th one.So how did yours happen what was the cause ?
Ummm good question, I blame stress. No one knows how you get, there's loads of factors but stress is top of the list. There's lots of other things. I'm focusing on being here and not letting cancer get me.
Well that's a great way of thinking about it ,don't let it get you down ,you've a long way to go many years yet .Have you got family?
Hi. I’ve just been told I have cancer in my peritoneum. I had treatment last year for cervical cancer that had spread to my ovary. It’s now back and is apparently incurable. My consultant has told me it is life limiting but that there are some options, although has ruled out more surgery and radio. I’m waiting to have a biopsy to determine whether the present cancer came from my cervix or ovary as this will influence what treatment they give me. Consultant did say it will likely be 6 rounds of chemo, one every three weeks of carboplatin and pacitaxel. Feeling utterly devastated and struggling to process as apart from a little abdo pain I feel well.
