Hi, I have an appointment next week to have tattoos done before I start my radiotherapy sessions. I just wondered how long after this appointment am I likely to have to wait until the sessions start.
Hi, mine started 2 weeks after. You will probably have a planning scan too. This will go to your oncologist so they can plan where to direct the radiotherapy. Its nothing to worry about and the staff were lovely and very reassuring too.

Hi D1962H, thank you for your response. I had another call today to go over the upcoming appointment. They said I will be having a scan and tattoos done. They also did say my treatment would start a couple of weeks later and I will receive my schedule next week. Hope your treatment went well today. Xx
I had my surgery three and a half weeks ago and have a first radiotherapy appointment on 18th December. I would be interested to hear how you all get on and wish you well. It's a daunting prospect facing radiotherapy and it's good to have others to discuss this with.
Hi Mouse62, I am off to my first appointment shortly. From the information given, this will be a ct scan and tattoos, ready for radiotherapy to start in 2 weeks time. I went through chemo without too many issues, so not too worried about the radiotherapy. Also had a mastectomy with diep flap reconstruction 5 weeks ago. I'm more concerned about travelling to the hospital everyday, as it's a different hospital and further away. Will let you know how it goes. Hope you are recovering well after your surgery. Xx
Hi, the journey today was OK and all went well. I had a ct scan and the markings done. They gave me a schedule and start on the 5th of December. Only issue is my last appointment is due on boxing day, which I can't make, as going to my daughter for Christmas. I phoned them but systems were down. They don't think it will be a problem to change it, so will phone again tomorrow. A bit concerned that quite a few of my appointment are before 9am, so might get a lot of traffic on the motorway at this time. Will just have to see how it goes. Xx
