2 years since stage 2b cervical cancer diagnosis and treatment but have just had my second surgery to remove more granulated lumps - has anyone else had this?

I was diagnosed and fully treated for stage 2b cervical cancer two years ago. 12 months after my first si they found a small lump on a routine inspection and that was removed under GA and tests showed it was innocent. 12 months later I started to have episodes of bleeding. I spoke to the oncologist and on inspection they found a red, angry looking lump on the vagunal cavity wall. They removed this last week but simply said they would let me know when they get the results. Has anyone else had to return more than once for lumps to be removed from the original surgical site?

  • Hello Ziggylight1

I'm sorry to hear about all that you've been through over the past 2 years. Whilst it's great to know that you were successfully treated for your initial diagnosis, it's understandable that the repeated surgeries since may be causing some anxieties.

Did the hospital team say how long you may have to wait for the most recent post-op results? Hopefully, it won't be too long and the team will be able to give you some answers and reassurance.

In the meantime, I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Ziggylight1 and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
