Tongue cancer

I've had tongue cancer, treated with radiotherapy for 6 weeks during sept and Oct 2023 on tongue and lymph node.  I am at last eating nearly normally.  I did not eat for 6 months being fed through peg.  I have been well through most of the time.  Really grate fir the care and constant  check ups

  • Hello Mereen,

Tongue cancer treatment is not always easy and can have an impact on eating for a while so it must be a real relief for you to be at last able to eat nearly normally. I can imagine that after being fed through PEG for so long that it must be a nice feeling to taste things again a little and I hope that you are able to enjoy your food. What things do you enjoy most eating at the moment or that you find easiest?

I am pleased to hear that you have had good care and constant check ups. I hope that you will hear from the experiences of other members of our community who have been through tongue cancer treatment and recovery before and I thought you might be interested to read the story of   who posted this tongue cancer and treatment thread. You are not alone here and there are many other members who have come out the other side of diagnosis and treatment for tongue cancer and I hope that you will be chatting soon here to others who have been through all this before and who will understand how you are feeling post treatment.

    Best wishes,
