Hair growth after chemo - how do I look after it and will my 'normal' hair come through?

Hi everyone, finished my chemo at the beginning of May. Lost all hair.

Now starting to grow back but head hair is really fluffy. I had heard that it can come back like this.

My question is to I have to cut it to get rid of whats growing now or will if left alone will it start growing as 'normal' hair?

Thank you x

  • My wife is 2 years out from chemo and her hair came back in curlier and whilst it does have length, it's not hitting her shoulders (even when she straightens it). Grows very slow;y compared to how it once was. But same colour. We know other folk that their hair came back in as normal, and someone who lost all their pigment, so they have white hair. Basically, hair growth after chemo is a very individual thing.
