Hi to everyone, any suggestions for helping me Sleep at night...So damn annoying..
Hi Sleepy-guy and welcome to the forum, Can i ask what is the reason for not sleeping, is it pain, treatment, anxiety or medication.
Eddie
Hi good morning,Long story short..Sept 2023 had appendix removed cancer ,and intestine large removed due to blockage and 16 nodes removed.
Home recovery and Chemo 6 sessions started january and i am half through.i have had one recent scan which i am told was clear.Recently recieved a letter saying all probability cancer shall return.
Apart from numerous chemo effects i am in constant pain from stomach area which in my mind is unresolved although numerous tablet changes etc.
I have phone discussion next week with Cancer Specialist which i hope shall take me in a new direction.
I do not feel overly stressed or worried with whats going on but it definately is effecting my Sleep pattern which is terrible.
I have also arranged a pscycholgist interview to ask advice regarding me getting my head around things but i am not one who feels talking to a Shrink normally is some thing i ever needed in the past.
A bit of a Woffle this Story but i suppose with whats going on it is not suprising...Cheers
Hi Sleepy-guy, not surprised you are not sleeping and hope you cancer specialist can help you with the pain, I had anxiety issues, though denied them for over a year, then saw a counsellor and did relaxation therapy and went from 15 months on 2 hours a night to now getting 6 hours sleep, I have also seen a psychologist so would ask you to keep an open mind, It really stinks not sleeping on top of every thing else we are dealing with and i hope your appointment and interview help, good luck' Eddie
Thanks very much for your reply, yes i shall carry on with every thing as per norm.
Usually TV and phone in hand is a constant...Cheers
I had this when I was diagnosed with insulinoma. My brain was determined to wreck my chances of recovery by denying me sleep. However I still made a full recovery. I think Jesus carried me sometime. Now I focus on resting at night and don’t count my wakeful minutes.
Hi Gordgrc, TV works for me too, especially football.
Eddie
Thanks for reply, hope you are healing...
Thanks. Yes my successful operation was 6 years ago. I still have issues ,mainly mental and I alleviate them by practicing piano. Thanks.
