Pain with Zarxio tummy jabs

I've noticed lots of you ladies out there, men too possibly, who are suffering with severe pain caused by the zarxio injections to stimulate your bone marrow. I also suffered from horrendous bone pain after my first cycle of Docetaxel and Zarxio injections. When I mentioned this to my oncology nurse she suggested I try antihistamines. Well, it was a miracle. No more pain.. at all. Now this may not work for you but what have you got to lose by giving it a try? You can buy antihistamines over the counter in any pharmacy for just a couple of pounds. My oncologist had never heard of this fix so maybe yours hasn't either. Once I had explained to my oncologist just how amazing they were he prescribed them for me. I took Citirizine, 10mg a day split into two 5mg doses morning and evening. I would check that it's OK for you to take them (must admit I just took the nurse's word for it and didn't check further) but give antihistamines a go. They just may work for you as well. Wishing you all well with your treatments, good luck, Mog, xx

  • Hello Moggymad62

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with some side effects of your Zarzio, also known as filgrastim, injections.

It's really interesting to hear that the oncology nurse was able to suggest something that has helped you. Hopefully your post will help others who have this side effect to deal with.

    Best wishes,
