Ureter cancer now spread to bladder

Ureter tumour removed July 2021. Follow up chemotherapy from November 2021 to January 2022.

CAT scan clear.

Had check up cystoscopy last week and discovered three tumours in bladder.

Consultant planning to shave these off next week.

Very disappointed with current situation as chemotherapy was based on a successful trial.

Wondering what other surprises could show up in different locations.

  • hi Celia Ronnie got his hospital letter for the 2/9. Also he i mean i had to phone up and confirm he will be attending on the day. Also he i mean i  had to phone up and order a lateral flow test to take 3 days before he goes in. Then when he has done it he i mean i  have to phone the result in and then take it on the day to prove it was negative. I can tell you none of that would have been done if i wasn't here. Ronnie does not do phones he is deaf and he is not web savvy. So to ask an 82 year old man to do all that is disgraceful and i will be putting a complaint in to the hospital. It will be interesting to see what your John has to do before he gets seen to My niece is going in for a hip replacement next week and all she has to do is a coved test at the hospital th day before. ?

Hope you have a nice time away take it easy and enjoy the HMS Pinafore

    Love from Sylvie xxx.

  • Sounds like Ronnie and John are a pair John has hearing problems and also isnt web savvy I sort everything like that out either phone or online

On the other hand he has just replaced the hinge on the washer door which I had to order on line He had to adapt it to make it fit but we got there as a team I suspect you and Ronnie make a good team We have to play to our strengths

I agree about hospital staff who fail to realise people have different needs and take a one size fits all approach I had a night in hospital years ago with an eye problem I said I was having a shower and the nurse spoke very slowly telling me to put my hand under the water to make sure it wasnt too hot She had the grace to blush when told her it was my eye causing the problem my brain was working fine

We enjoyed our trip Luckily my brain was engaged again as the hotel tried to charge for 4 drinks we hadnt had and dudnt deduct the 10% discount we had been promised

Keep up your good work for Ronnie

    Love and hugs

    Wilbert

  • I had a chuckle about the eye thing so did Ronnie i read all your letters, to him.. Well we all cant be good at everything can we so everyone to each there own so they say. What did your John do before he retired. Ronnie used to be an engineer sheet metal. When we first got married we had very little money and he used to make garden gates and anything to do with metal for the garden even candle sticks for Xmas. I used to sell them to the work colleges in the bank. They say that chemicals can also give you bladder cancer even hair dressers using chemicals. So another trip to the hospital on Tues i wish they could have done his pre check up and the coved test all together a few days before the op. But where not that lucky. Anyway best get the washer on and another salad made. Do you think Ronnie will be OK to go fishing after his op. It will be 8 days after it. I told him if he isn't up to fishing we will just have a lazy 6 days watching TV and playing cards and maybe a trip out to York. It's not that far from Foggerthorpe where the yellotops is. There's a nice pub down the road so we can go for a meal there. What will you do about getting to and from hospital when John goes in for is op. Will you be able to drive. It's a bit of a bind when you have to get Taxi's and they say the NHS is free. Well it isn't when your shelling out for petrol and taxis.

Take care and loads of love your way from Sylvie.xxx

  • Hi Celia i seem to be getting 2 of the same letters from you ? Dont know why any ideas?

    Love from sylvie

    xxx

  • No quite sure unless I'm pressing reply twice

Fingers crossed Ronnie will be ok we went away once a week after John had OP just took it easy Maybe if he feels ok let him try to fish and see how it goes

John served an apprenticeship as a mechanical fitter then retrained as an instrument mechanic then became the workshop engineer and in a complete change a new managing director asked if he would retrain as a safety and environment manager So he went back to college and hot his qualifications and was in that job til he retired at 60 The company was multinational so he travelled quite a bit in Europe

The company he worked for ground corn and certainly in the early days some if his jobs involved chemicals which the hospital quizzed him about when he was first diagnosed

I'm just about to do a bit of weeding we have a guy who does the garden but his weeding isn't that brilliant bit superficial so as its sunny here I'll stir myself

I like the sound if your plans

    lots of love

    Celia xx

  • He sounds a clever man your John. Ronnie was over health and safety and he retired at 60. He just came home one day and said he had had enough and i didn't stop him cos he looked like death warmed up some days. That's when we decided to go to Spain. We had been planning it for years but only wanted to go for 10 then come back. A lot of bad things happened  to us in Spain  Where ever we went the locals didn't wont us there and drove us out practically. Someone tried to forge our name ETC off our passports when they broke into the house and  the bank got in touch and told us. They new it was a fake letter as they spelt my name with Si not Sy. Anyway nothing become of it because the police didn't want to know. they didn't get any of our money because it was all in Jersey in a tax free bank account. That money was from the sale of our house and for us to come back to the UK with. The worst thing that happened to us was my mum died while we were there she was 97.I used to write a few lines to her every day and post it at the end of the week. When we got back for the funeral the home she was in gave me the last letter i posted to her she died before she could open it. I put it in her coffin unopened . When we went back for her funeral i had made my mind up after 5 years that we were coming home and 3 month later we were in a rented cottage in Leeds. I could write a book don't you think. Everyone and everything was against us and i hated living in the heat. You couldn't go out in the day you couldn't get a seat on the bus or a taxi because of the tourists You just seemed to exist because all the Spanish wanted was your money. We gave it a go and it just wasn't for me. Ronnie loved it but he is so laid back he was almost vertical. But he said if i wasn't happy we should go home. Know i regret ever going. It seams 5 years was lost out of our lives. The only good thing about it was they got rid of Ronnies prostate cancer but they could have done that in Leeds. Where happy know apart from the obvious. We  still live in a rented bungalow cos it was too late in life to buy again plus we have no family to leave a house to. So that's a bit off my chest thanks for listening to me moaning. Hope you got plenty of weeding done where getting rain tomorrow.

    Take care

    till next time

    love Sylvie xxx

  • You poor love you had an awful  time in Spain not surprised you came home early We thought about Cyprus but cahanged our minds A friend who did  reture to Spain is having problems  at the moment  with her neighbours and is thinking of moving Its not good

Pleased with my weeding looks lot better then sat in the sun and read for awhile

I envy you having g your Mum for so many years I was 21 when mine died

We thought about moving to a bungalow but decided to stay put and do equity release to free up cash for hols work on the house and a new car

Take care lots of love from us both

    Wilbert xx

  • How sad to loose your mum so early in life. My mum was so lovely and kind and never had any friends all she wanted was my dad who was one in a million and my best friend. I am the youngest of 5 and i was always his favorite. My dad died of lung cancer at 87. He was a slaughter man and would you believe he couldn't stand seeing human blood.  When i was loosing clots of blood after having 3 teeth out when i was 12 he was sick in the loo for hours. I miss him to this day even tho it's 19 years since he was here. When my mum died they put on her certificate death from old age. I thought that was lovely not putting heart attack.

Yes it's nice to do the garden and get up the next day and see all the hard work you have put into it. My knees wont let me do it know but i used to enjoy it when we had our own house.

I read that Spain in 2023 are checking at customs to see if you have enough money to stay there and have proof of where your staying. A bit like Australia. Cheeky gets. Probably wont print that last word lol. Somethings gone wrong again as i got 2 same emails. Not to worry i just delete one of them.

You do right staying puy in your house. Get as much money as you can out of it and tell your friend to get the hell out of Spain. After brexit it's only going to go down hill with the prices. As for Cyprus we went a few years ago and the cost of living there is terrible dear. Not only that but the Russians own nearly all the tourist parts. We were told that by a rep. We have been all over out of this country and there is nothing like been with your own kind. There is some beautiful places to go for holidays. I love Devon and if i ever won the lottery i would be off like a shot. But that wont happen cos we don't do it. Oh well never mind.

Take care till the next time

    Love to you both

    Sylvie
