The waiting game

I'm so glad I found this forum and now know that waiting for results is difficult for everyone at times I think I'm just a negative person but it seems the waiting game is tough.  I had duct ecstasia around 8 years ago with no reoccurrence.  I recently decided I would get the lump checked behind my left nipple but wasn't concerned as my nipple has been inverted for 8 years and I fully expected to be told it's duct blockage again.  Came as a shock to find that's not likely. .  3 biopsies on lump and one in Lymph node.  Words used like worried and highly suspicious during consultation.  To be honest I'm in shock that awful sick feeling in your tummy and another ten days till results appointment.  I asked some direct questions but obviously she wouldn't commit till results are in but in her experience I will be having treatment. Keeping as busy as I can but an emotional wreck right now. Relieved to hear this is the norm for most of you awaiting results.

  • Hiya

I am new to the forum and I am so worried as well.

I found a lump on my right breast a couple of days ago and i have an appointment with my gp next Thursday...the waiting game is the hardest ...I cannot stop crying and thinking the worst...it is really hard .

I hope you get some great results .

  • You too it's a worrying  time for sure.  I feel exactly  the same.  My best day this week as so busy at work.  Distraction  seems to be the best thing right now. Hope your results are good too x

  • Thank you so much Madgee ,you are so kind.

I just finished my work and going for my last scan for my lymph nodes. Then I can come back and relax ...it has been hard to sleep the last few days . It is scary thinking about what will happend tomorrow but as you said I will get rid of it tomorrow..

I hope you are well and the treatment is going OK and you have not got too many side effects...

  • On your way to recovery lovely. Its gone I know it will take a while to recover but you will have all this behind you soon.  No better place than your own bed.  Hope you can take it easy rest and enjoy Christmas. Do not over do it listen to yr body.  I did chem 2 on Thursday  and it kicked in quite quick so had a really tough night.  I'm m much better now my meds have kicked in but have spent last 2 days on sofa but just resting and listening  to my body.  Can't believe 2 done passing quicker than I thought. Loads of love to you remember rest keep on top of your meds and let everyone  look after you.  Bet you can't wait to see your little girl.

  • Thank you so so much Madgee! Yes definitely I will need to take it easy and rest but the best medicine will be a big hug from my daughter, I missed her so much!!

I am so happy the 2nd session has finished ! Well done my lovely!  You done it , you are so strong !!

Have a good rest and enjoy your Saturday afternoon.

I will message you during the week to check how you are

  • Hi lovelies,

Sorry for not being around much! I've changed jobs 2 weeks ago and it has been the best distraction, but also very tiring.
I'm so glad you're both doing ok! V1234- so proud you've got it behind you now and you seem to be coping very well. Onwards and upwards now!! ️
Madgee- how has the 2nd round been treating you? Hope you're taking all the rest and drinking all the fluids?

My second round is on Monday and starting to get a bit anxious again. I know a bit better what to expect now, but that's also a downside haha! At least I know I can do it.. I've done it once before right?!
I have some aches all around (last week my breast was sore, currently my joints and lower back hurts) and I hate the fact that all these meds do things to your body, and it will be most likely that, but that it spirals me into thinking the worst. I'm generally quite positive, but sometimes I really hate this disease.

Sorry for the long rant, but I knew you ladies would understand. Lovely hearing from you both! ️

  • Hi lovely massive  congratulations on your new job I had my chemo Thursday  and it was a little different to first  one.  My first I didn't crash for 3 days nut this time I crashed  after 3 hours.  Terrible first night with nausea  but have got on top of that with back up sickness pills I take them if I don't need them 3 a day and it keeps it at bay.  I had a review before chemo and she gave me 5 days extr a steroids to try and ease the crash do will let you  know if that helps.  I also had lots of aches and pains, breast, armpit and upper back but she checked pet scan and reassured me.  I think chemo does give joint ache as a side effect. Just think when we do January were half way there.  We've got Christmas  to enjoy also.  We can do this hun. Have a lovely  Sunday and hope Monday  goes OK.  Lots of water  and rest.  Lots of love to you
