The waiting game

I'm so glad I found this forum and now know that waiting for results is difficult for everyone at times I think I'm just a negative person but it seems the waiting game is tough.  I had duct ecstasia around 8 years ago with no reoccurrence.  I recently decided I would get the lump checked behind my left nipple but wasn't concerned as my nipple has been inverted for 8 years and I fully expected to be told it's duct blockage again.  Came as a shock to find that's not likely. .  3 biopsies on lump and one in Lymph node.  Words used like worried and highly suspicious during consultation.  To be honest I'm in shock that awful sick feeling in your tummy and another ten days till results appointment.  I asked some direct questions but obviously she wouldn't commit till results are in but in her experience I will be having treatment. Keeping as busy as I can but an emotional wreck right now. Relieved to hear this is the norm for most of you awaiting results.

  • Hiya

I am new to the forum and I am so worried as well.

I found a lump on my right breast a couple of days ago and i have an appointment with my gp next Thursday...the waiting game is the hardest ...I cannot stop crying and thinking the worst...it is really hard .

I hope you get some great results .

  • You too it's a worrying  time for sure.  I feel exactly  the same.  My best day this week as so busy at work.  Distraction  seems to be the best thing right now. Hope your results are good too x

  • Hi Madgee,

So good to hear from you . I am so glad this week you feel better and stronger .

Yes I am feeling a bit anxious and scared ,sometimes for me but mostly fro the people around me waiting for my operation to finish !

All Christmas presents are bought and all wrapped when my hubby and my little girl are at work and school.  Very early this year ,usually I am not that organised.

What about you Madgee ,all done ?

Looking forward to be out from the hospital, hopefully recovered a bit by the 25th !!

How are Elvira114 my dear ? I hope you are feeling OK?

    Thinking about you !!

Sending my love and hugs to both of you xxxxx

  • Fab yr all organized V1234 and No I'm not organized at all lol. My son is 29 so it's not the same as when they are young but I just can't wait to spend day with him.  I'm organized in the food front but that's about it.  I'm absolutely sure that you will be definitely enjoying Christmas Day.  Just listen to your body post op and don't over do it that's the secret. With everything that's been thrown at us I think it's the smallest things that will make this Christmas special, the smells, the tree and for you yr daughters face. I don't care if there's nothing under tree but suspect there will be lol.  Stay positive iand your going to be just fine.  Much love xxxxxx

  • Hi lovely ladies,

Sorry I haven't responded, I've been doing ok ️ My mum is over for a few days from back home to help out, so have been enjoying the company and taking it easy!
The first 2 days were tough, I felt relatively ok but I got a pretty bad headache and it kept me bed bound pretty much for 2 days straight. Since yesterday I've started to feel a lot better! I've even managed to put some normal clothes and make up on today (I know it seems silly, but it's the little things that make my day haha).

I still am not back to a 100%, my body is aching but as much as chemo is hard, I now also know I can do this. I've even got myself a wig this morning!

Hope you both are doing ok. Madgee - also one more session of chemo before Christmas?? I hope we can all enjoy the holidays, but at least we know we got this ladies. We're strong!! ️

  • So pleased to hear from you Elvira.  I also found it very hard but for obv reasons didn't want to worry you or make you anxious.irs brutal  and I too was around 4 days terrible and in bed.  I'm now  2 weeks in and feel so much better have been cleaning eating better and sickness pills have kept the nausea away.  I have never felt so poorly but knowing the worst lasts  for me around 4 days I think will spur me on.  This time next week  you will be so different hun.  Enjoy time with yr Mum and rest and as much water as you can get down you.  My beloved  cup of tea is now referred to as a cup of tin lol.  Sending lots of love x

  • How are you doing ladies?  Hope your picking up Elvira and having a few better days.  How are you V1234 hope you have a lovely weekend and your not to anxious, try enjoy the next few days. Lots of love to you both xxxxx

  • Hi Madgee - I've been doing ok actually! Started to feel a lot better on the weekend, headache was finally completely gone and was able to go out for lots of walks with the dog :)

I have been having issues with my port arm. It's sensitive and difficult to stretch etc. But I had an ultrasound today and everything looked fine so they said just to keep an eye on it. I have my next appointment with the oncologist on Tuesday so hoping we're all still on track so far.

How have you ladies been doing?? Madgee is your next session on Monday? Assuming you will have blood test soon, and you feeling ok?

    sending love! Xxx

  • Hi Madgee ,

So good to hear from you.  I hope you are well and I hope you both are  feeling stronger!

I am OK,  I had  a few blood tests this week and started some iron tablets because my haemoglobin was a bit low.

Next Thursday is my operation but I am having g every day next week an appointment so I am hoping it will be a quick week so I won't think about my operation!!

We have put our Christmas tree up yesterday and trying to keep things normal for my little girl..but it can be difficult sometimes.

I hope you are both having a good night and have a lovely, relaxing and cosy weekend.

Sending all my love to you both. Xxxx
