Hi Karenk,
A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.
I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx

Hi Debbie, yes it is a lot to take in, be kind to yourself. I thought you meant grade 2, I've been told they won't stage my cancer til post op. Fingers crossed for hormone receptor results. Mine were positive. Do you know when next week? Sending you love and more virtual hugs, Mickey ️xx
Hi Everyone,
I have been following this discussion the last few weeks while I was waiting for a stereo biopsy and even though I have not posted until now your messages have calmed me and reassured many times during the middle of the night. I was due to get my results tomorrow but the breast care nurse phoned to say that the MDT meeting took place and they want to do further testing on the biopsy sample to get a full and.better picture. I am now in next week and can't believe I have to go through another week of waiting. I had a mammogram in June and they found calcifications that were ADH I had a lumpectomy and had a follow up mammogram a few weeks ago and more calcifications showed up. My mind is gone into overdrive and I'm sitting in work trying not to cry. Has this ever happened to anyone x
Hi there, I'm really sorry to hear this. When you say they want to do more biopsies do you meant the stereotactic ones or additional ones on top of that? I was wondering if you had a date for the stereotactic ones. I know a lot of people here got those done quite speedily, but unfortunately I had a delay with mine. Saying that, I did chase and I was lucky after being cancelled myself to getting a cancellation on the day, for which I was very grateful. We're the calcifications that are now showing microcalcifications do you know and in the same breast? Sending you a virtual hug and lots of support Mickey x
Hi Mickey,
the nurse said they need to run additional tests on the biopsy samples they took last week. I had a stereotactic biopsy last week. The calcifications are micro calcifications are in the same breast and same area as the previous ones that were removed in June.
Thank you for coming back to me x
Hi, I'm curious too as to what additional tests they have to run on your sample. Thank heavens they don't need to re-do the actual biopsies, don't know how you felt, but it certainly wasn't my favourite 90 minutes (lol). That's strange that the microcalcifications came back within less than six months in exactly the same place. I hope they do the tests quickly and come back to you next week. The delays do make it so much harder and I totally understand your mind being in overdrive. I found it hard that I had a clear mammogram and within 10 months had so much going on my breast. I still find that hard to process. Sending another virtual hug and post if it helps - we're always here Mickey x
So just to update you ladies, I have breast cancer.
There are 3 areas of cancer, 1 larger one of DCIS and 2 smalller areas (6mm each) of invasive cancer.
I had a mammogram today and scheduled for an MRI next wednesday. I meet with the consultance on 1st Dec to discuss the treament plan but will either be chemo and then surgery or surgery and then chemo. I have to go on Herceptin as well.
I am shell shocked. Just taking in all the facts- I have no emotion at the moment apart from when the breast cancer nurse was talking about ways to tell my children.
I am so glad that I push to be seen again at the clinc! I knew something wasn't right.

Hi Ebby, I just replied on your feed before you replied here. I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I'm glad they gave you some support on telling your children, so hard for you. Here if you need to chat as I said in my other post. Big supportive virtual hug Mickey xx ️
Hi all, new to this.
Firstly, after reading what all of you have been through, I feel like a bit of a fraud.
Went for mammogram as part of breast screening programme a month ago.
Received a recall letter a fortnight ago and my appointment is tmrw morning at the breast clinic.
I can't feel anything nor see any changes in my breasts, though aware this counts for nothing, so was a real shock to be recalled.
My appointment was initially for last week, but the eve of the appointment we had to take dog to vet to say our final goodbyes so I was in no fit state to attend clinic. Still sobbing at the gaping whole she has left in my life but shall obviously attend tmrw.
Anyhow,I know that ( so far) I am fortunately not in the position that a number of you are, but just wanted to say that I found this thread last Sunday and have read every post.
It has been what has stopped me going cuckoo with worry. It has made me realise that if I am told that they suspect cancer tmrw, that I shall cope. The news that some of you have received is just dreadful and I am amazed at how you all are taking it, each and every one of you. Also to folk who have received good news but have went through tests and weeks of worry, it has obviously been so emotionally and physically draining for all. It really has had an odd calming effect on me this thread.
Please know that no matter what I am told tmrw ,that reading all of your journeys has kept me going and given me strength to face whatever may (but hopefully may not)be ahead. And for that, I thank you all for sharing your stories.
K xx
Hi K
Im Karen ive just read your post and a few months ago i found myself pretty much in your shoes, like you a mammogram as i turned 50 in Aoril so had my screening in august (Friday 13th) unlucky!!! I was recalled back that it was unclear and had to attend the breast clinic on rbe 1st of September did 2 mammogrsms consultant looked at it initial thought from her it was a cancer, got an ultrasound then biopsy results clear but wanted to do a stereotactic breast biopsy and discovered i had a radial scar i just had it removed on the 8th of November to see the surgeon for pathology results on the 30th, i too lost my dog this year(April week before my 50rh) and when i got my mammograms when they thought it was cancer my first thought in my head was my dog (Darcey) she was 12 and i broke my heart to the nurse, so i know how you are feeling hun, like you no lump to feel or any changes but i was diagnosed with a radial scar which i pray isnt cancer cells when i get my results, the girls will tell you its a journey and a half and the worst feeling is the world is the waiting but you will get through this, we are all here to support each other
Sending you love
Karen xx
Hello everyone,
Although I've chatted to a couple of ladies privately, Ive not been on here for a while. I'll admit it, I lost my head a little after diagnosis and had to pull myself back together. Now for an update!
I had my lumpectomy and lymph node biospy two days ago. She said the op went well and she thinks she got a good clear margin. Im in a little pain but not as bad as I thought really. Just recovering now. I've been made an appointment for 8th Dec to see what's next for me. Hoping for just radiotherapy and Tamoxifen but we will see!
Hope you're all doing ok xx
Hi Lucy, I'm glad to hear you are out the other side after your op. I have been thinking of you. Not too long til the 8th so keeping everything crossed for you. Virtual hugs Mickey xx ️
