Waiting on breast biopsy results

Im waiting on breast biopsy results, i get them on monday, the waiting is just dreadful, sometimes your gut feeling tells you what you know but this time i just dont know! Anyone feel or felt the same?

  • That's fantastic news Nikki xx fingers crossed we all get start dates for whatever treatment we're having first very very soon x love n hugs Mickey xx ️ ️

  • Hey!
So sorry to hear of your journey so far, so frustrating and worrying for you.  I think everybody would agree that waiting for results is just the worst feeling ever.

fingers crossed you get some good results soon.  Please do chat to us here if you need too.

    lots of love xx

  • Hi Ebby088

The wait is awful, sorry you're having to through this as well.

I've had core biopsies  which came back benign but they were still concerned it didn't match the mammogram images so last week had Vacuum Assisted biopsy in mammogram machine, I was desperately hoping today I'd know what the results were but it was cancelled, so the dreaded sickly wait continues,.

I have had so many meltdowns about the future because I get so upset for my children, seems it's part of the process but it is really hard at times to function so my heart goes out to you as you navigate life through this, I don't have any tips as I couldn't really function at all, but I could chat on here which was a blessing and it allowed me to offload the burden of emotions  so I could function for a bit.

I'm glad you reached out to us, chat anytime

    Love Lisa xxx

  • Thank you Nikki, my results cancelled again, never mind!

Looks like you're on your next step of the journey,  each session which will fly past, it really does.

I will be thinking of you, if you give the cold cap a go lots of water and conditioner apparently helps reduce the shedding and just take a warm cardigan or throw to wrap around you.

    Sending love

  • Hi Mickey, think the MDT meeting is tomorrow and I might get an appointment on Monday, but no idea why it was delayed, a glitch they said...

Ha ha cling on to dear life I did!! I couldn't visualise the waterfall- more like the Niagra Falls on a bad day!

Good luck with everything on Friday, I really hope it's all go and things move swiftly from now on, thanks for your advice on the shoulder as well,  take care my friend

  • Hi again, I hope you feel a bit better after posting and I'm really pleased that Nikki and Lisa have already replied to you also, such a supportive network of ladies here. I just really wanted to say well done for persevering and being brave enough to go back to your GP when you finished breastfeeding and realised the lump still hadn't gone. I'm also really pleased you felt you were taken more seriously this time and the fact that they did the ultrasound and biopsies etc shows that. It's always hard waiting for results, we all find that, it's good that this time next week you will get your results.  I just wanted to reassure you that even if the 'wasn't happy with' lump does not turn out to be benign, you will get through this. Breast cancer is highly treatable and you will be able to work and see your daughters grow up. You will get the right treatment and you're already reaching for the right support and we'll support if you want it at any time. Sorry for babbling on, I just felt your pain and hoped to ease your fears a bit, whilst ensuring you know it's completely natural to feel that way.  I feel out of control most of the time and try not to think beyond my next appointment, that helps me focus a bit and get through, but we all have different ways of doing this. Be kind to yourself, that's most important. Virtual hugs Mickey xx

  • Hi Lisa, if you feel up to it you could always ring tomorrow afternoon and ask for the BCN to tell you if the MDT was heard and could she tell you the outcome? Or you can wait til Monday. You know I've had mixed experiences doing that, but it's made me feel a bit more like I'm trying to take some control back.

I had to laugh at your Niagra Falls comment on a bad day, so thanks for that, good to remember you can still giggle. But seriously look after and rest that arm xx

I'll keep you posted re Friday as I know you will Lisa. Awwww, you take care too my friend xx ️ ️

  • Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it. And your advice. I waver between terrified and ok and pretending that life is normal. I am only 33 and the consultant was like it's not common in younger women. Yet half the women in the clinic whilst I were there looked about my age.

  • Thank you for your reply!
That sounds horrendous your appointment being cancelled!! I would be marching down to the department and demanding they tell me the results.
I hope you get answers soon.
What are core biopsies? I had the ones done with the punchy sounding needle. They left clips in so they could be seen on the mammogram next week.
    xxx

  • My Core needle biopsy was done in the Mammogram machine, seven samples of tissue they took and put a marker in.

The Stereotactic vac biopsy was similar but more intense and larger needle another clip and my breast was still sore from the Core one, hopefully you will have results first time round so you don't have to go through more.

Wish you the very best for next week I'm going to chase this tomorrow!
