    Hi Karenk,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.

I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi.. It is Rosie wishing you lots of love today hoping that you finally get your results ... hopefully I haven't missed anything have been thinking of you. All good wishes and lots of love xxx

  • Hi Lisa Rosie again just noticed your results are tomorrow so sending you lots of love and strength and best wishes . The awful wait will be at an end hopefully.  It's such a long process you are so strong and positive.. with much love to you and your family. Xxx

  • That made me laugh Rosie, even had to double check appointment letter!

Means so much, thank you, I hope you are okay

  • Hi Lisa, I'm so sorry, I thought I'd replied to you, but think I didn't - apologies, it wasn't intentional - head a bit over the place and do have a frozen shoulder now too (bloomin awful biopsies).  Well I've got an apt Friday am with plastic surgeon and so I hope things will finally start moving. Are your results tomorrow? Keeping everything crossed for you and apologies again. Love n hugs Mickey xx

  • Good luck today Lisa ️ Xx

  • Hi Mickey, no worries at all it's lovely to hear from you, not long now until Friday, it seems forever waiting for a plan, we could write a book on patience!

Had a pretty awful week after VAB and just received a phone call that my appointment today is cancelled and I'll get another appointment next week- feeling pretty low about it as I didn't sleep very well - worry and like you awful shoulder pain!

I hope and pray everything is in place for you on Friday and that you can begin treatment as soon as possible.

Take care of yourself, especially with the shoulder pain as well, sending you a huge but gentle hug and love

  • Hi Lisa, thanks for the reply. I'm so sorry they've cancelled your apt today, did they say why ? ? ? The wait is awful - do you know when next week or are they still trying to sort that?  Sleeping is so hard with the constant anxiety heightened by delays, but with painful shoulder too, believe me I feel your pain. Please don't do what I did and carry on ignoring the pain until it froze, it really is a significant problem now for me and I'd hate that to happen to you, Lisa xx

I'm hoping Friday will start getting into date mode, I'm not sure how any of us cope with these constant delays, but it's certainly trying.

I assume you found it impossible not to cling on for dear life with those biopsies too then - I'm so sorry, I was hoping to help deter you, but another impossibility.  Please look after your shoulder and yourself Lisa. I loved your closing hug and back at you xx ️ ️

  • Hi Nikki, any update for you since the clear scan? Big hugs Mickey xx

  • Hi,

Sorry I am new here, and I can't work out how to post.

I am waiting for my results from some biopsys on Friday (5th) I am being seen on 17th and the consultant has already said I am going to have to have a MRI and a mammogram so it's not looking good. I have had a lump for over a year now. Was seen initally in January, but they dismissed it as I was still breastfeeding. I finished breastfeeding in August. The lump still didn't go, so was referred by my GP again. This time, I had a female consultant, who I feel took me seriously, wasn't rough when examining me and made me feel like my concerns were real. The dr who did the ultrasound found 2 lumps behind the big lump of breast tissue. One which she said was probably a cyst and another one that 'she wasn't happy with'. I had had 3 biopsys taken and 2 clips left inside for further scans.

I have 2 daughters 1 and 3 years old. I am terrified and the waiting is killing me quite honestly.

I don't feel like I can talk to those in my life. My husband keeps saying it'll be fine but I am so worried about not being able to work or be a mum to my girls.

Sorry again for jumping on the thread, but just needed to get this out.

  • Hi there. You're definitely posting in the right place. I'm sorry to hear of your journey so far, but hang in there, you will get through it, like we all are and support here really helps. I'm out at mo, but didn't want to leave replying to you. I'll reply more later. Send virtual hugs Mickey xx

  • Hey!
So sorry to hear of your journey so far, so frustrating and worrying for you.  I think everybody would agree that waiting for results is just the worst feeling ever.

fingers crossed you get some good results soon.  Please do chat to us here if you need too.

    lots of love xx

  • Hi Ebby088

The wait is awful, sorry you're having to through this as well.

I've had core biopsies  which came back benign but they were still concerned it didn't match the mammogram images so last week had Vacuum Assisted biopsy in mammogram machine, I was desperately hoping today I'd know what the results were but it was cancelled, so the dreaded sickly wait continues,.

I have had so many meltdowns about the future because I get so upset for my children, seems it's part of the process but it is really hard at times to function so my heart goes out to you as you navigate life through this, I don't have any tips as I couldn't really function at all, but I could chat on here which was a blessing and it allowed me to offload the burden of emotions  so I could function for a bit.

I'm glad you reached out to us, chat anytime

    Love Lisa xxx

  • Hi again, I hope you feel a bit better after posting and I'm really pleased that Nikki and Lisa have already replied to you also, such a supportive network of ladies here. I just really wanted to say well done for persevering and being brave enough to go back to your GP when you finished breastfeeding and realised the lump still hadn't gone. I'm also really pleased you felt you were taken more seriously this time and the fact that they did the ultrasound and biopsies etc shows that. It's always hard waiting for results, we all find that, it's good that this time next week you will get your results.  I just wanted to reassure you that even if the 'wasn't happy with' lump does not turn out to be benign, you will get through this. Breast cancer is highly treatable and you will be able to work and see your daughters grow up. You will get the right treatment and you're already reaching for the right support and we'll support if you want it at any time. Sorry for babbling on, I just felt your pain and hoped to ease your fears a bit, whilst ensuring you know it's completely natural to feel that way.  I feel out of control most of the time and try not to think beyond my next appointment, that helps me focus a bit and get through, but we all have different ways of doing this. Be kind to yourself, that's most important. Virtual hugs Mickey xx

  • Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it. And your advice. I waver between terrified and ok and pretending that life is normal. I am only 33 and the consultant was like it's not common in younger women. Yet half the women in the clinic whilst I were there looked about my age.

  • Thank you for your reply!
That sounds horrendous your appointment being cancelled!! I would be marching down to the department and demanding they tell me the results.
I hope you get answers soon.
What are core biopsies? I had the ones done with the punchy sounding needle. They left clips in so they could be seen on the mammogram next week.
    xxx

  • My Core needle biopsy was done in the Mammogram machine, seven samples of tissue they took and put a marker in.

The Stereotactic vac biopsy was similar but more intense and larger needle another clip and my breast was still sore from the Core one, hopefully you will have results first time round so you don't have to go through more.

Wish you the very best for next week I'm going to chase this tomorrow!

  • You're most welcome, waivering between those emotions is 'normal' for want of a better word. Statistically, your age is on your side for a positive benign outcome and I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Here any time you need to 'offload' or chat x be kind to you, hugs Mickey xx

  • Hi Lisa, you're most welcome. I expect you may not have had a reply, I know my BCN's say within 24 hours, but I just wondered if you did ring to chase re MDT today? Been thinking of you and hope you're ok. Love n hugs Mickey x ️

  • Hi Mickey

I eventually got through to BCN she tried her best to get me some information but the consultant and his secretary had gone home, but an appointment has now been made for Monday at 1.45 so that's a relief!

I hope you're okay too  I'll be with you in spirit tomorrow,  sending you love as well as courage to face what you have to.

In your own time let me know what happens or I won't be able to sleep!!!

    Love Lisa xxx
