  • Hi KarenK 1971

    Hi

I had an excisional biopsy around nipple and areola suspected small cancer, 3rd Sept and I have now received an appointment for a telephone call Friday 17th Sept.

It's the day after the MDT meeting

I hope a call means good news, unsure, and yes, the wait is so hard xxx

    Xx

  • Hi my name is Rosie and like you I am in that agonusing wait for biopsy results. I am hoping that I am wrong but what started off a positive consultant then turned not so positive. I am hardly sleeping or eating and think I am in panic mode . Not helpful I know but distracting difficult.
Have my results in 4 days time feeling sick with worry and can't imagine what I will feel like if the diagnosis not good. Am I alone in not wanting to know grades what cancer etc as I think I will glaze over. Lost mum recently too. Trying to keep a lid on for husband and family . Lots of love and best wishes to all the lovely brave ladies on here xx Rosie

  • Hi Rosie,

I think I get my results the same day as you so will be thinking of you! Please let us know how you get on. You are not alone in feeling sick with worry. I too started off with a positive consultant, who thought it was nothing and then had to apologise for misleading me. Double the shock! I wasn't able to eat a thing for a few days after my clinic visit. They pretty much told me it was cancer, even without the biopsy results, so I'm preparing myself and just hoping it's easily treatable.
I hope it's good news for you but you will cope with whatever the results are! I haven't told anyone yet (except my husband) probably because I'm stupidly still thinking they might have made a mistake.

Stay strong, you'll get through this, everyone says the waiting is the worst time, and there will always be someone here to support you if you need it.

    Hi Rosie,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mum and offer my sincere sympathy. I shall be thinking of you tomorrow and hope that all goes well for you.

You are not alone in not wanting to know any of the details, but they can be helpful when looking at your treatment options and long term prospects. Hopefully you have caught this early and all will be fine.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine. Thankyou so much I am having an easy day

today. Thankyou for your support it means a lot.

    love Rosie xxx

  • Wishing you luck tomorrow Rosie! You will cope with whatever they tell you, but I do hope it's good news!

My results day finally came and it was all strangely as I was expecting. Confirmed cancer. But grade 2, small tumour and treatable so I'm still incredibly grateful for that. It's likely I'll need a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy and Tamoxifen. I can cope with that.

Not everyone was at the MDT meeting this morning so they're going to discuss my case again next week. I'll probably need an MRI scan before surgery to make sure nothing was missed (I have very dense breasts apparently) which could mean more biopsies and more waiting (please no!!!). But at least then they could operate on any other issues at the same time.

So I am in the really weird position of having cancer and yet feeling quite grateful.

    Love to you all ️

    Jenny xxxx

  • Hey Jenny.

so sorry that you had the news you were expecting confirmed but glad that it is small and treatable.  The treatment plan so far sounds positive and I have no doubt that you will kick butt.

    sending love

    Hi Jenny,

I am so sorry to hear that your fears have been confirmed. I know that the thought of more biopsies will fill you with dread, but you're as well to find everything that is there, so that you can hit it with the right treatment from the outset. Lumpectomy, radiotherapy and Tamoxifen are all perfectly 'doable', so I wish you luck and hope that you don't have any side-effects.

    Keep in touch.

    Kind regards,

    JOlamine xx
