    Hi Karenk,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.

I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi jolamine

Nice to hear from you, yeah another long wait but hopefully be fine, its the wait again and the unknown, so been a bit low to be honest, if everything is ok what a journey it still has been, i take my hat off to you all in your journeys!!! But the last 2 weeks since i joined ive read everyones journeys and it's so nice how everyone supports each other!!!

You jolamine are one of the strongest people ive had the pleasure to talk to, your knowledge, understanding and support, so lovely how you reassure June!!! June is lovely too and she will get through this, the surgeon and nurses are certainly on the ball and not making her hang about, as you say next week at this time it will all be over for her and she will deeply be in our thoughts

You are a true inspiration jolamine! Thank you

    Love & hugs.                                                                            Karen xx

  • Hi June

As i said to Jolamine ive been a bit low, the waiting is the worst! But hopefully on Monday they will have all the answers, the unknown is dreadful! And even if everything is ok what a journey the last month has been!

You will get through this june! You are a strong woman and sounds like they are now on the ball after 8 months of you having to wait! As jolamine says next week at this time it will all be over, as with jolamine its been a pleasure speaking to you over the last 2 weeks and we are all routing for you!!!

    Love & hugs.                                                                            Karen xx

    Hi Karen,

It's only natural that you have been a bit low. It is hard enough waiting 1-2 weeks for results, but becomes all the more worrying as further tests are required. Still, most of these tests are to rule out anything sinister as much as they are to find something and, in the long run, you'll be glad that you have had a thorough investigation rather than being palmed off.

It is so kind of you to say that I am a strong person Kare. I always thought that I was until I was diagnosed. My mother died from breast cancer not long before I was diagnosed and, I had always expected that it would happen and thought that I was prepared for the news. I was utterly embarrassed by how I reacted to the news that I had it too. It was this experience of total despair that prompted me to come on to the forum. I got such tremendous support from  total strangers and, it was this which prompted me to try and help others. My knowledge is not huge, but I have had 12 years to try and hone up on the subject.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you on Monday!

  • Hi Karen x

My nipple has changed, look like blisters but not xx I am having a sentinel node injection ,the main lymph node that drains fluid from your breast are to the rest of the body. The injection is supposed to help plot the pathway of lymphatic drainage and identify where my sentinel node is located.

Its a small amount of radioactive tracer which goes under the skin around the nipple area, think it be near where they took needle biopsy and excisional biopsy xxx

I have this day before surgery xx

Hope you are holding out...its hard xxxx hugs xxx xxxx

  • Hi

Hope you are well xxx I posted on here about the injection am having, blood protein? Xx I am so worried its spread xxx

    Love and hugs xx

    Hi June,

The dye is a normal procedure and nothing to worry about. As you said this will identify the sentinel node(s).  Some hospitals are set up to assess these during surgery and, if these contain any cancer cells, your surgeon may remove more lymph nodes to find out the extent of spread. This avoids having another operation. It would be worth asking your nurse whether or not your hospital has this facility.

Just remember that it's not spread until you're told that it has and, keep telling yourself this, as there's no point in worrying about something that might never happen. It's going to be a busy week for you next week, but it'll soon be all over.

    Love & Hugs,

    Jolamine xx.
