    Hi Karenk,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.

I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Karen,

I am delighted to hear that your results wee fine. Did the nurse say why they want to do more biopsies?  They wouldn't have said that your previous biopsies were fine, unless they were, so it sounds as if they are being extra cautious and still wanting to investigate the changes they've founfd.

I'm so glad to hear that you had a nice lunch and, I hope that you and your Mum enjoyed your afternoon in Edinburgh.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi jolamine

Its a stereotactic biopsy they want to do this time,  i still think its a small area that is still to be investigated for 100% clearance, this machine seems to be more accurate by the sounds of it, but feel the biopsies that were clear why do more? so i feel theres still something they are checking, i said to the nurse on the phone what do you actually think she saidvi really cant call it, so im thinking is there something small they have missed or not got the exact area? I am pleased yesterdays were fine though but i think its the thought going through it all again, yeahbit was so nicevto meet up with my mum had a look in tbe charity shops got a nice coat, nice lunch, the sun was shining and had such a nice day, a white feather has just dropped at my feet as im messaging you god strike me down xxx

  • Hi KatenK1971 and Jolamine

I called the breast clinic today to ask if I needed someone with me when I get my telephone call Friday 17th

Unfortunately my son has just started a new job. So I will be on my own, but because its a call I thought it be OK to be on my own

The nurse asked for my NHS number and then said could I go in face to face instead with a friend Friday xx hoping all will be OK xx

  • Hi

Do you have a friend that can be with you on Friday? You have all us thinking about you if you dont, thinking of you and sending lots of love

    Karen xx

  • Hi KarenK1971

    Hi

Yeah, my friend coming with me, it's strange,  I had a physio apt am hour ago, he has put my physio on hold.

I asked why and he said , the milk ducks if suspicious can spread quixkly and I understand they are fast tracking u and when they do a ct scan they will have a better idea????.. what was that about? Xx

    Hi Karen,

I know that this means more waiting and more worry. Not all results are as clear cut as they appear, but I am glad that your team are making sure that all is clear. If I were in your shoes, I would prefer my care team to do this, rather than dismiss something that could later prove to be probleatic.

I am so glad to hear that you had a good afternoon yesterday and that you treated yourself to a new coat. Hold on to that white feather. Hopefully, it's a reassuring sign.

  • Hi Jolamine.   It’s DCIS. Not great news but could have been so much worse.  Non invasive primary cancer - at the precancerous stage so caught early .    I’ll get breast reduction surgery (horrid but  can’t complain) to try and contain / remove the cells . Thank God.   Apparently not so bad as I had feared.. I’m told that the cells are changing and  so far not cancerous but that they are the kind of cells that will change unless removed.
It has been caught before it has gone anywhere thank God.
I’m just so relieved. It will not be pleasant but I am grateful the prognosis seems to be  ok so long as I go ahead with this.

Next step is to check hormonal influence on this then action stations ...

    scared but relieved

  • Hello all,

I have been quietly following this thread, wishing you all the very best of luck and everyone on this forum is so brave. I promised myself that I would post my journey incase it may be of help to others in the future.

I'm 36 and 4-5 weeks ago I found a hard non moveable mass on my on the upper outer side of my right breast. I went to the gp hoping it would just be dismissed, however I was referred to the breast clinic with a wait of 11 days. At the breast clinic I had my physical examination from the consultant and he said everything felt normal but then he did find the thickening on the ultrasound said it was probably benign but I had a core needle biopsy (which wasn't painful) and then waited 11 days for the results. During the 11 days alot of veins on my right breast became far more visible and I began to panic as my anxiety went through the roof ( I don't normally get anxious) however after googling every possible out come, I was feeling less positive) I received a phone call at 4.30 the day before I was due to collect my results giving me the all clear and it is a benign lump called PASH. just wanted to share my experience incase it helps anyone in the future! Love to you all xx

  • Hi Chris

    Hi Freyafern,

Although it may not feel reassuring to have a pre-cancerous condition, this is good news.  Have you been told when you are likely to have your surgery? I was diagnosed with pure mucinous breast cancer 12 years ago and had a lumpectomy. Unfortunately, I had a second cancer the following year and had a double mastectomy. I have never looked back and still lead a busy and fulfilled life - Hopefully, you will do the same.

It shouldn't be long until you get your HER2 results and know whether or not hormone therapy will be effective. I do hope that it will.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
