11 cervical cancer free!.....however!

Hi.....not sure how to go about this but here goes......my names val.....at the age of 29 i was dignosed with stage 3b cervical cancer just 6 weeks after i got married. To say it was a shock is an understatement. I had been constantly at my gp for a while and finaly told me i had been referred to hospital for minor keyhole surgery to check my stomach.....so when at hospital turned out to be a cone biopsy......roughly 20 mins later i was sitting with dr who requesed that my husband comes in at that point we heard those words. You have cancer!.....everything else after that was just a blur!......fast forward to now...11 years later i have lost count of how many procedures and surgeries ive gone through. Although cancer free i do not feel lucky. Am i wrong to feel this way?

11 years cancer free is absolutely amazing! I was diagnosed with stage 2b cervical cancer in September 2018, and I’ve had chemo radiation and massive surgery last year for a recurrence. I do consider myself very lucky so I can’t identify with your feelings, but I’m sorry you feel that way. I consider every single day to be an absolute blessing. How does it affect you, if I can ask? I’m never free of th3 fear if recurrence, but I try not to let it dominate my life.
