Worried mamma here!!!

Hi all this is my 1st ever post. Three years ago I was diagnosed with CML (chronic myeloid leukaemia), as far as cancers go this is one of the good ones. Initially I had some not so nice side effects from my TKI but they've mostly levelled out. Fast forward to now I had some irregular bleeding between periods and after intercourse, very quickly I was referred to the gynaecologist and yesterday was my appointment. I had an internal scan where she found a 8cm cyst in my right ovary (blood test taken). She also took 3 clippings from my cervix (for biopsy)! Had precancerous cells 18yrs ago.

I am a nervous wreck here. I have 4 kids aged 21-6yrs old. I worry about the cml advancing all the time now this extra worry. Actually had palpitations a few mins ago which made me seek you all out! How can I stay calm for my mental health, I don't want to go on a downward spiral while waiting for these results.

Thank you

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some health concerns which have needed further investigation. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious - I think most people would be even without your previous history of CML.

We know that waiting for results can be a really difficult time and lots of people struggle. It can really help to talk things through with someone and I wonder if you'd find it helpful to have a chat with one of our team of nurses. I'm sure they will be able to give you some information and support to help whilst you're waiting for news. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you have some news and reassurance from the Consultant soon. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
