I would recommend going to the gp as you are having these symptoms which are ongoing. A smear test is to test for abnormal cells, not diagnose cancer, so it’s correct that you wouldn’t get another one at this point. An ultrasound is not a typical tool used when investigating symptoms for cervical cancer either, so really the best thing is to be referred to a gynaecologist for symptom investigation. The ectropion isn’t cancer, but can cause bleeding.

With ongoing symptoms it’s best to get a pelvic examination by a gynaecologist, in my opinion, to set your mind at rest. It’s not likely to be cervical cancer, but you do need to have it investigated. x

I will contact my GP again, like you said even if to help put my mind at rest by ruling anything else out. 

No problem-you do need to be reassured that it’s nothing serious. In my own experience it’s best to get symptoms checked out and hopefully there will be nothing to be concerned about. But you do need peace of mind. Good luck, and please let us know how you get on.
