Hi,
I am 57 year old male. I am due to start chemo (Doxorubicin) next week. I will be having 6 sessions 3 weeks apart. I would like to hear from a male who has had similar treatment. I would like to know about how to deal with the hairloss, fatigue, sickness etc. Any hints would be very much appreciated.
I have to say that for the first time in the three years since my op that I am very nervous...
A brief background; I was diagnose in Feb 2018 with leiomyosarcoma (soft tissue cancer) of the Inferior Vena Cava. I had surgery to remove my IVC and had the best part of a year clear of sarcoma. However, since 2019 I have had numerous secondaries on my lungs and liver. Until recently I had lots of Microwave Ablations (MWA). Unfortunately my latest scan shows a number of lung nodules and a large growth on my liver that is too near the portal vein and bile duct to ablate. As such I am now moving onto Chemo. I am aware that this isn't a cure for sarcoma but it will hopefully slow or stop the spread of metastatic cancer and if very lucky it may reduce the size.
