I'm in the same position as you. I had my smear in January and got my results telling me I had HPV and no cell changes so was classed as low risk. I then started to experience some irregular spotting, changes to periods and sometimes bleeding after sex. As per the letter I received I called my GP who did an examination and referred me to gynaecology as she thought I had a polyp, so 6 weeks later seen the consultant who said I have a large and nasty looking nabothian cyst but would leave it 6 months to see if it gets bigger. I complained as using those words to describe it and also not really being told what it was other than to google. I continued with the strange spotting that I have never had before and a nurse told me it is normal and tried to pass it off as worrying about nothing. Now after it took them 5 weeks back in September to find out I had thrush I wasn't very confident in what I was being told. I decided I was going to go private which required my to get a copy of my cytology results to give the consultant. I was shocked to see that it said I had high risk hpv when I was told before I was low risk. I had a private colposcopy at the start of June and the consultant has confimred today that I have CIN1 changes and high risk HPV so we'll wait 12 months from my original smear to retest. Like you I am concerned as it has only taken a matter of months for CIN1 to develop so who is to say that in another 6 months it isn't CIN 2 or 3 or worse.
