DCIS diagnosis - does anyone have any positive stories?

Hi I've recently been diagnosed wirh DCIS and am due to have a Single mastectomy and diep or tram flap  reconstruction all being well at the end of April.

I'm really anxious about the surgery and was looking for some positive stories of ladies who have come out the other side of the surgery and recovery.  Thanks x

    I'm sorry to hear about your recent DCIS diagnosis. It's understandably an anxious time for you. 

    We do have some information about DCIS which you may find useful as well as some information about reconstruction. 

    I know we have women here on the forum who have been through different types of reconstruction as well as women who have chosen not to reconstruct after their surgery. Hopefully, some of them will post to share their experiences with you but you could also use the forum search function to look for the term "diep". You'll find lots of posts to read through. 

    If you'd like to chat things through with one of our team of nurses you're welcome to give them a call. They'll be back in the office after the bank holiday weekend and are available on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm). I'm sure they'll be happy to give you some advice and support.

    I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I'm in the same situation. Due to have a single mastectomy due to DCIS. Waiting to see plastic surgeon about reconstruction. Have you had you surgery yet? How are you doing anyway? Hope everything goes well for you x
