Anyone with NAFLD/liver Cirrhosis after being on tamoxifen?

After having breast cancer in 2008, chemo, lumpectomy, radio, herceptin for a year, I then had tamoxifen for almost 10 years, it returned in 2019.  Had various treatments, now on Tdm1(kadcyla) but have recently been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver which is likely due to the tamoxifen.  I may have to come off the Tdm1 as this can also damage the liver so alternative is to find a trial..  Would love to hear from anyone who has this as I stupidly didn't realise how serious this is.

  • I'm sorry your cancer has returned Happi and that you've recently found out you have cirrhosis of the liver.

This must be a lot to take in at the moment, but fingers crossed there will be a trial you can join that will help. I'm not sure if you've come across the clinical trials section of our website already but if you haven't and would like to have a look, just click here.

Hopefully some of our members will get back to you soon but do feel free to join in on other discussions you find about this when using the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above.

Our cancer nurses are also available for a chat or to answer any questions you may have on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
