Hello Jaccief,
What a difficult question to answer!
I truly believe that diet, exercise and attention to mental health has nade a difference to my own treatment - a big difference.
But, at the end of the day, nobody has a straightforward answer do they?
At the start of my journey with my own breast cancer my prognosis was pretty poor; it had spread throughout both of my lungs and my liver.
I was lucky enough to know a long term survivor (who remains healthy) and I leant on her a lot.
She helped me make positive changes to my lifestyle alongside my medical treatments, and I am still here 9.5 years on. Nobody will ever know for sure whether it's helped me or not, but I believe it has.
I believe that lifestyle changes, alongside medical treatment, might help some people, with some cancers, so I do my best to follow some of the "anti cancer" suggestions. And, for me, so far so good and I have no regrets.
I think everyone is different, and so is their cancer, so what works for one might not work for all. But I'm not medically trained so not qualified to say for sure.
My attitude was that, as long as I ate well and nourished myself properly, and took great care of myself, and checked with my medical team as I went along, I had nothing to lose.
Always happy to have a chat about the things I try to do. And if you message me I will always answer.
I hope you find the answers you are seeking.
My advice would be to always run things past your own medical team first, and not to spend too long on the internet as there are a lot of charlatans out there!
All the very best,
Mary
