Been posting here for a couple of weeks or so and think it's about time I introduce mysef.
After a significantly longer than 2 week wait for my urgent referral (thanks Covid!) I had a section of cancerous bowel removed in August. Although at the appointment with consultant I was told no further treatment would be required, it turned out the cancer had moved into my lymph nodes (found in 2/19 tested) so I started chemo this week. It's hard not to feel that if I'd been seen at the more appropriate time - ie in accordance with 2 week referral protocol - I might have been spared the need for chemo. Ah well.
I'm finding the names of the drugs quite tricky but during a three hour wakeful period during the night decided to call them Poxy Oxy and *** Cape! Very early days in my treatment obviously but feeling ok right now apart from some nausea. It would be good to hear from others in a similar situation. Meantime I shall close by sharing what SFUC stands for - it used to be Short, Fat and Ugly but recent events have changed that to Short, Fat, Ugly and Cancerous!!
Cheers all.
Turns out that we can discuss the most intimate functions and stages of our lives but can't use a word that rhymes with Trappy!
