Hi there,  I didn't get on well with provera.  It caused heavy bleeding initially, and then spasmodic bleeds thereafter.  I had my second hysteroscopy in January and asked to change to the mirena coil.  The consultant said it was the better option anyway, why wasn't I given it in the first place..., And since then I've had no trouble.  I had my third hysteroscopy in July and thankfully am clear so no more of them!  Very painful to say the least.  If you're on the provera and it's not suiting you, go back to your medical team and ask to change.  I've still got it and it'll stay there for another four years by which time I'll be mid sixties and hopefully won't need it.  Hope that helps x

Ok.  It wasn't painful having the coil fitted, I didn't even know it had been done. Yes, they can tell how thick the uterus is, I asked each time, they can't tell whether it's cancerous til they get the results back.  Where I live they do three hystericopies and after the third if all well you're discharged back to the GP.  I did ask what if the bleeding started again and was told it's all repeated but with the coil I'm sure I'll be fine.  I had it for contraceptive use many years ago, no bother at all. X

You too.  It's scary as you don't know why it's happened.  I'd been period and coil free for years.  Hopefully with provera or coil you'll be fine.
