Gynae cancer???

Hi everyone

Sorry a little nervous but here we go. When I was 28 (my 28th birthday in fact) I had some CINIII cells removed from my cervix, this happened between planning my wedding. Fast forward to a month after my wedding & I find out I'm pregnant so have to postpone a laparoscopy but due to kids & stuff it just got put back. Eventually I learn I have to get a hysteroscopy as a precaution since I'm getting bleeding between sex, periods are everywhere despite being on the pill for 4 years & get crippling pain when I'm on my period & ovulating but did put this down to fibromyalgia initially.

Everything was calm then suddenly the gynae said "oh", everything went silent & all 5 of us are looking at the screen. She says she's going to take a biopsy "just in case" but actually missed the damn polyp so here we are over 9 months later & I just had the polyp removed last week & I'm going nuts. I just hate not being in limbo & I'm 95% sure it's either precancerous or cancerous cells since it looked like the CINIII cells that the other gynae did say would be nothing.

Would love to know how all of you dealt with the waiting for the results & I'm just more scared of having to explain to my oversensitive 6 year old & my autistic 2 year old what's going on. I also don't have much support around, my husband is great but worries a lot so can't put it on him.

  • Hello su.1985,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. You can read some helpful tips here to help you cope while you are waiting for news.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
