Small lumb under ear

Hello there I'm 24 years old female.

I had a small lumb under my ear for maybe even more than two years. The size I believe has never changed,at least i cannot notice. My mother though said its getting bigger and makes me anxious that she worries and i worry more.

Before two years i was checked by a doctor in my country who said it might be infection, some problem in my mouth (for example if i had piercing in my mouth),then asked my why my ear had larger holes and reason was because i had tunnels on my ears.

anyway in the end i wasnt scanned and we left it be like that.

Today i was to my gp and she said it might be lymph nodes or cyst..

im getting blood test next week and im waiting for appointment for scan.

Has anybody ever had problem like this and whats do you suggest it might be?

Sorry for my English and my worries but please advise

  • Hi NVlv.

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm not a doctor and I have no medical qualifications, and of course we can't give you a diagnosis.

Lymph nodes do swell up in response to an infection, and although they usually go down after a few weeks, it is certainly possible for a node to remain permanently swollen after the infection has been cleared.

The only way to tell for sure is with an ultrasound, but there's no reason to suspect this is anything serious.  I know it's difficult but try not to worry.
