How did you get on  with your second treatment today? I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so low at the moment. I know we've a few members here on the forum who have been living with stage 4 cancers for some time now. [@Denise1977]‍ and [@Billygoatt]‍ are the two that immediately spring to mind and hopefully they will pop by to say Hello! and share their experiences with you. 

It definitely helps to keep a positive mind set but I know that it's not always an easy thing to do. If you'd like to talk to one of our nurses about things then please do give them a call. I'm sure that they will be able to offer some support and advice. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hi Denise. 

I've been living with my uninvited guest since February 2016, stage 4 palliative care had chemo and on hormone therapy for life. 

My cancer isn't same as yours. I've prostate Cancer gone to lymph nodes, spine, ribs, pelvis and a lung,. 

Main thing I've found is be positive and keep fighting. 

I have to because I'm official carer for my darling wife she has Alzheimers and parkinsons plus other problems. 

Remember keep positive and keep fighting nomatter what.

Treatment went ok a couple of issues with veins but got there in the end. Feeling ok so far. Thanks for reply it means a lot. Also nice to talk to others that are no so close as you can open up more. 

Hello my name is Denise too and I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis.I have metastatic breast cancer in my lungs.I was diagnosed in May 2019 and since August 2019 I am on chemo treatment.Before i started treatment I couldnt even breath or eat without spitting out phlegm but now I can even run to catch the bus and last month I have returned to work partime and using stairs at work with no problem.The chemo still shrinking my lung nodules.I have another CT scan on 4.8.so I hope it will be still a good news.

I am positive most of the days although have bad days too.I am thinking about my illness like a chronic one e.g.like diabetes and I am just having an insuline injection not chemo:)I know maybe I sound foolish but i am only 43 and I am planning to be here many years.

Maybe i am foolish but I am planning to be here many and many years.

Thank you Denise for chatting to me and giving me the strength to fight on. So many lovely people out there fighting this evil disease. I had second lot of immunotherapy/chemo yesterday and feel surprising well. Breathing a litter easier this morning but that could change. I'll try and change my outlook on this like you have because if it can be controlled like other diseases then treat it as so. I'll keep chatting and watching our progress. Look after yourself. Xx

can you remember how many chemo sessions did you have before the breathing got easier? 

Hello because I am on weekly chemo it got better only after the 3rd session so i was feeling much better in 3 weeks time since i started.

Ok thank you. I think mine is easing after 2 (3 weekly sessions) Sometimes though feels difficult. I'll have to see what it's like after the next one. Xx
