Hi Boulevard,
Welcome to our forum. I doubt that there'll be much difference whichever way you decide to go with Letrozole. If you are seeing your oncologist again, you could ask her how much difference this will make to your long-term outcome. If you're not due to see the oncologist for a while, phone up your breast care nurse and, ask for her advice.
It sounds as if you've been going through the mill with your surgeries and chemo. Your radiotherapy will fortunately be over sooner than the chemo.. I sincerely hope that it all goes well.
Please keep in touch and let us knowhow you get on.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Many thanks for your reply. I'll call my breast care nurse and ask for advice. Yes,it's been a rotten time but hopefully radiotherapy will be a breeze in comparison!
Thanks again x
Hi
I was given the option of taking letrozole during chemo or after and decided that I didn't want compounded side effects.
Hopefully your rads side effects will be less than any chemo side effects you may have had but for the same reason you may want to wait to start taking them after your immediate rads side effects have subsided? Especially if it makes little difference per your support team who are giving you the choice.
Sam
Many thanks. I think I'll ask my breast care nurse but I'm inclined to wait until after radiotherapy. Thanks for your advice.
