Hello Liz72.
I can see that you've been chatting with some of our lovely members on a few other threads. Just wanted to pop by to say Welcome! although obviously we are sorry that you find yourself here.
It's natural to feel scared and alone but as you've discovered, you're in good company here.
Hopefully your HER results on Wednesday will bring some positive news but if there's anything at all you'd like to chat to one of our nurses about then please do give them a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Do let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,
Jenn

Hi liz.
Think of the forum as a big family everyone looking after everyone else when neaded.
I'm stage 4 was diagnosed Feb 2016 been on palliative care since living with my uninvited guest.
But keeping positive and fighting.
Have to because I'm official carer for my darling wife she has Alzheimers and parkinsons plus other problems.
Keep fighting.
Billy
Hi Liz,
I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. You are perfectly entitled to be frightened, angry, worried, super emotional, etc. These are all normal reactions to a cancer diagnosis. Can I ask what type of cancer you have? A grade 3 is always a concern, but there are a number of ladies on this site who have been coping with this for years. Here’s hoping that some of them will come along soon to give you some support.
Have you had any surgery or been given any treatment options? If it is of any consolation, it becomes easier to cope with everything once you know what you’re up against. The most important thing in beating this disease, is to keep a positive frame of mind. I know that this is not easy, but the further you travel this road, the easier you will find it to face it with positivity.
I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 11 years. I also lost my mum and, several other family and close friends to cancer. Sadly she died 10 years before I was diagnosed. There is just no comparison between the diagnosis, surgery, treatment and after care that mum received and, that which I have experienced. Thanks to our friends at Cancer Research and elsewhere, great strides are being made in these areas and, all cancer diagnoses are no longer a life sentence. Many people are now living with cancer, instead of dying with it.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on. Billy is right, we are all one big cancer family and, we are all here to support one another when and as needed. We are always here for you, whether you are seeking support, information or just want to vent. We have all lived through this nightmare that you are going through, so nothing can shock us.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi Billy
Thank you for your reply, Wow and there was me thinking I'm alone, I'm sorry to hear about you and praise your strength and hope that you keep fighting, your positivity has brushed off. I guess we are going to have bad and good days and this Covid does not help at all, Thank you Billy x

Hi Jolamine.
thank you for your reply, I have invasive duct the common cancer so I was told, I found a lump 2 weeks ago measuring 15mm which is 1and half cm I have been told pending HER test results tomorrow that I will have a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy and tablets, I am due for op on 28th July, I have appointment with consultant tomorrow afternoon and hope that the results are ok. I have to start shielding from Monday and have discussed this with my youngest daughter who is 13 and she has decided to shield 1 week with me and dad and then go to her big sisters (my eldest daughter) she is fully aware that she will not be able to come back home, and I'm so blessed that she is able to have a choice, I'm trying to embrace everything because like you said it's easier and you are so right, I'm sorry to hear what you have also been through and thank god that we are all one big family and here for each other. Thank you for your reply

Hi Liz,
I hope that your results tomorrow don't show up anything sinister and, that your HER2 test results bear good news.
I'm glad to hear that you have discussed this with your 13 year old, and that she has been able to make her own choices. She is a lucky lassie, having a big sister to stay with, as well as staying at home with you and your husband. How is she coping with your diagnosis?
You will find the support that you get on this forum is invaluable. As you say, we are all one big happy family and are always here for one another.
Please let us know how you get on tomorrow. Remember that we are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi liz.
If you have a look on the forum, you'll find a discussion called "the good and the bad" it makes very good reading plenty of lasses and me of course (I'm every where whether wanted or not always sticking my nose in).
Keep positive and keep fighting.
Love Billy xxx
