Hello.
I'm 19 years old, and I've just been to see my doctor today. Yesterday I found a patch of red skin on my breast. Before then, I'd noticed my breast had swollen, but I assumed it was just growing, as they tend to do at various times of the month, just to throw you.
He has prescribed me some antibiotics for this week, and he said to get in touch next week if things haven't changed, but to get in touch sooner if things get worse. He seemed really concerned, and I know from family experience that this is a way of ruling out mastitis, and approaching a diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer. I'm scared. I'm coping well enough, but I tend to push things into my head and not share the worst problems I have with anyone. Does anyone have any advice on how to get through this week of trying antibiotics?
