Lump under my jaw line and below my ear

Hi, 

I have noticed I small lump under my jawline on the right side of my face and slightly below my ear, I have not experienced any illness or feel as though I'm coming down with an illness that would cause a swollen gland and therefore I don't know what this lump could be. Has anyone experienced the same kind of thing and is this something I should be worried about?

    Hi, 

    How long have you had the lump for? 

    I had a similar thing about a month ago, woke up one morning and the gland behind my ear and by my jawline was slightly swollen! Didn't think much of it, but then the following day my face was so much more swollen and painful opening mouth etc. Didn't feel ill with it other than pain. 
     

    Went to the doctors and they said most likely mumps - even though I'd had all my jabs. Went down after a week.
     

    could it maybe be this ???

    first thank you for the reply

    I found the lump a few days ago and didn't think much of it either but it hasn't moved or gone down in the slightest, it's still painless and only on one side of my face. 
    Do you think this is something I should go and get checked out??

    Sorry, I don't really know! If you're worried about it and it hasn't gone down after a week or so might be worth going to the doctors to put your mind at ease :happy:

    Hey There . . . 
    I've recently experienced the exactly same thing hard lump in my throat just under & slightly to the back of my right ear !! 1stly I had to go to the dentist because 1st thought by DR's is it could be an Abscess due to an infection in the mouth so you have to ask yourself a few questions . . . 1.) Being, Have you got/had any toothache? 2.) Do you have/got any pain in your jaw? Have you got/had any Ear ache or discharge leaking from your Ear ? If you answered "No" to all those questions then it isn't an abscess an need to go back to the DR's because what your dealing with is a Blockage in the Lymph Node and that needs seeing to ASAP !!     Hey Cbk, I noticed you were hoping to get an update from Annie.

    Unfortunately Annie hasn't been back on the forum since 2020 so there's a chance you may not get a reply.
