I’m newly diagnosed & new here!

Hi everyone!

I’ve been living with my mother and caring for her during her breast cancer diagnosis last year. She’s currently about to receive radiotherapy after two surgeries and chemotherapy so hopefully on the up and up.

Unfortunately I had some tests done last year, physical examination of my neck after the lump I had for years was growing and beginning to interfere with my swallowing. After two ultrasounds I had a biopsy, which was found inconclusive but most likely not cancer, I opted for surgery to remove the 5cm nodule growing on my thyroid.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and thyroiditis on the 8th of April at the ripe age of 23. Surprisingly taking it well but have been told my treatment may be delayed for up to 6 months due to the pandemic which is understandable but frightening. I get a call on Monday from my consultant who will transfer me from ENT to Endocrine.

I haven’t found many forums for thyroid cancer so thought i’d introduce myself here.

Hope youre all well during this scary period!
