Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm so sorry to read about everything you've been through recently - I can only imagine how tough this has been - it sounds like an awful lot to deal with.

I'm glad you've found this forum and I hope you find it to be a helpful place to be for you. It often helps to talk to others, especially those who may have been - or are in - similar situations. Do also feel free to browse the forum for any other relevant discussions that may help.

If you'd like to explore options perhaps for emotional support or something similar, Macmillan may be able to help - you can always give them a call.

Try to make sure you are looking after yourself too. This can include simple things like daily walks, taking time for yourself to read a book, or perhaps something like meditation via an app or similar.

Try to take things one day at a time - it is a bit cliched but it often helps.

Hopefully with my reply here you'll get further replies from other people on the forum - but otherwise as I say, do have a browse around.

What a lot to happen in a year, seems crazy doesn't it? Sad to hear your mum has gone already from oesophagus cancer, my husband has the same at only 44 and we have been told to expect him to be with us for only another 3 or 4 weeks, it is an awful fast moving disease. I also have a sister who has stage 4 melanoma and wasnt expected to be here  now, but seems to be doing 'ok' for now on immunotherapy. Two years ago my mums identical twin lost her battle with mouth cancer and my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer (controlled). Previously to this virtually no cancer in our family and then BANG! I have no idea why our family is going through so much pain and suffering recently and I really feel for you, I have two young girls also suffering immensely with the thought of losing their Dad, sorry I have no answers how we cope with the 'overload' of cancer that has been allotted to us but you are not alone... from what I have heard bowel cancer is usually treatable if in early stages, fingers crossed for your Dad xx
