Hi Pungle, same as you I’m afraid, but only 65.
I got a letter last year from the GP practice inviting me to have a well man check. Turned out I had a PSA of 19. After following a biopsy, bone and CT scan they gave me a gleason of 9 with the cancer spreading out of the prostate into the lymph node. Next week I will have my 5^th of 6 cycles of chemo. I have been generally ok throughout the cycles except for the first one, of which didn’t react too well with my body and I spent 4 days in hospital on an IV drip. After that they adjusted the chemo and 5 days after each cycle, I inject myself with 5ml of Zarzio for 5 days. I am also on hormone therapy and was told it would be for life. I have an injection in my stomach every three months. The fatigue has been a bit a nuisance, but luckily, I work from home and I do this as and when I want to.
All in all, I feel fine and do most of what I want to do. However, it has disrupted my hobby of photography, so instead of landscapes I do portraits and flower macro at home. I and my wife are positive, it is what it is, and we just get on with it. We have a wonderful oncologist who answers all our questions, as she has said there are no silly questions when it comes to cancer. Looking forward to my last chemo cycle though.
