Recently diagnosed

Hiya,

I was diagnosed late last year & had a full hysterectomy plus appendix, omentum & some modules removed from my peritoneum in December.

Been told the surgery was very successful & 6 rounds of chemo needed as a back up.

My diagnosis was a complete shock but I've got my head round it & just plodding on.

Feel I need support from others who are/have been through the same.

Many thanks

S

  • Hi Sammy, I had a very similar op (still have my appendix but everything else is gone) in August last year, followed by 6 rounds of chemo (Paclitaxel & Carboplatin).  Had my last chemo at the end of December.  Chemo really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!  Happy to chat if I can help at all or if you have any questions.

  • Thanks so much for your reply. Glad your chemo is over & hope you're feeling well.

when will you find out if everything's ok? X

  • About 3 weeks after my last chemo I received the good news that the chemo worked and I'm in remission. I'll be on maintenance therapy for several months to hopefully keep it at bay for as long as possible.

I hope everything goes well with your treatment!  I've heard someone say that their first chemo treatment was an anti-climax... hopefully you'll have a similar experience. x

  • That's brilliant news. So happy for you.

     Thanks for replying.

    Best wishes. X
