Hi Sammy, I had a very similar op (still have my appendix but everything else is gone) in August last year, followed by 6 rounds of chemo (Paclitaxel & Carboplatin).  Had my last chemo at the end of December.  Chemo really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!  Happy to chat if I can help at all or if you have any questions.

About 3 weeks after my last chemo I received the good news that the chemo worked and I'm in remission. I'll be on maintenance therapy for several months to hopefully keep it at bay for as long as possible. 
 

I hope everything goes well with your treatment!  I've heard someone say that their first chemo treatment was an anti-climax... hopefully you'll have a similar experience. x
