Gastroscopy biopsies

Hi I'm new to the forum and feeling very anxious... I'm 31 and have been suffering with reflux for several months and had pain radiating to my back at night when I lay down and a constant feeling of something being stuck in the back of my throat and middle of my chest so i went to my gp. I am h pylori negative I was sent for a gastroscopy which showed a compression at 22cm on the outside of my esophegeous they took a biopsy but I'm yet to receive the results but have now been told to go for a barium swallow and a xray has anyone else had the same thing found on a gastroscopy and had to go for further testing I can't help think the worste....

Thanks

  • Hi 1988,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read about the difficulties you've been experiencing recently.

Waiting for results is never easy and the uncertainty can be difficult. It sounds as if they're doing a number of tests to make sure they have all the information and hopefully it won't be longer until you can find out more.

Some people say it helps to keep busy while waiting for results, to try to keep your mind off things. I know it can be easier said than done.

If anyone here has similar experience then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,
