Pains in legs 3 weeks after my final chemo

Hi, I finished my last chemo on the 22nd November having been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in June. I have been attending body attack classes at the gym which I used to do 4 times a week before I started my treatment and am finding that my legs are painful and like dead weights after 10 mins of starting the class. I also notice that I can’t lift my legs as high as I used to. Is this normal after chemo?

  • Firstly I want to say how impressed I am your back in the gym. I finished chemo in May and huff and puff just going up stairs!

I think I can safely say it's the effects of chemo that's causing the issues. Out of interest, are you on any other meds? I'm on hormone inhibitors and boy do they give you aches and pains!

    Xx

  • Hi there, my husband was the same after chemo, it's lack of oxygenated blood to the muscles, he had bloods done and he was anaemic so ask your GP for a blood test to check.  Hope this helps a little bit.  Carol
