petjud - letrozole and nausea?

I am 80years old and  new to the forum I would like to know if anyone has suffered with nausea while taking letrozole tablets I feel sick from waking in the morning until after dinner the nurse said it is not usual to feel sick while taking them so wondered if anyone else has felt like this I have been on them five months now and wonder if the symptoms will get easier as time passes grateful for any feedback

  • Hello, I'm on something similar...anastrozole, been on them 5 months now....I do feel nauseous ( especially in the mornings) but I also have to take bone meds....

out of interest what time of day do you take them? My nurse advised the evening, so I take mine around 6 pm.....xxx

  • Thanks for your.reply I was also advised to take them at night so take it about ten o clock as I take warfarin tablets at six o clock I also feel sick in the morning and a little bit better after dinner have you had any follow ups since you started on them and if you did were the results what you wanted do the tablets shrink the tumour would love to hear from you

  • My tumour was removed , so the anastrozole is mopping up oestrogen in my body.

I do believe though that these meds do shrink tumours. Have you had surgery?

I do have follow up appointments and my first mammogram since my op is next month.

I got chatting to a lady who was in her late 80's who hasn't had an op but is on anastrozole and has been for a couple of years now, the tumour isn't growing.....so good news !

    Xx

  • Thanks for your prompt reply I haven’t had surgery just hoping the tablets will do the trick and shrink it so I don’t need surgery could I ask if you take anything for the nausea you get in a morning

  • No, I don't take anything for nausea, but I do sip water as soon as I wake up, the sticky feeling usually goes after a 2/3 hours.....I certainly can't just get up and go in the mornings like I used to, it's a pretty slow process these days xx
