Newly diagnosed & Waiting on treatment plan

Hi everyone, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of weeks ago, I've had so many tests, examinations and in agony from biopsies and numerous mammagrams. I'm going in next week for treatment plan. Trying to stay positive but never felt so many emotions in one day. .. Scared, anxious and upset every single day since finding out. The fear of the unknown Is the worst.

  • Ah I know, you're trying to be strong for those around you. You will get a chance to just cry it all out and theres nothing wrong with that. Once youve done that you will shake yourself off and get on with things. Best of luck on Tuesday. You will feel much better once you know whats happening. Let us know how you get on. I found it hard to sleep so I used guided meditations on youtube to take my mind off everything. I also bought some lavendar pillow spray which helped me too. I always think that if you get a good nights sleep, then you can face anything! Take care and hope to hear from you soon! xxx

  • Hi Sookie

I am about one week behind you. Diagnosed with Lobular and provisionally grade 2 breast cancer in 22nd November. Had MRI and CT scan this week and due to have bone scan next week.

Am due to have consultation with results and planned next steps on Friday. I am trying to keep my stress levels down while waiting  for the next meeting. I feel so tired (not sure if that is due to the diagnosis or due to the cancer) and have occasional feelings of panic.

Good luck with your next consultation

  • Hi jools, thank you for your reply.

You sound exactly where I am right now.

Im also really tired all the time, like you I'm not sure if it's the stress or a symptom? It's crazy what you start to feel once your brain knows what's happening.

Wishing you luck too, hope I can be a support to you xx

  • Hey, suziewong. Gave in and had a good cry tonight. It's like a pressure cooker building up, sometimes you just have to let it go.

I do guided meditations too. Haven't tried the lavender spray, so I'll need to give that a try.

Camomile tea and nytol has been my nightly ritual lately lol rock and roll....

Thanks, I'll keep you posted xx

  • Thanks Sookie

    That would be great

    xx

  • Hi jools, so latest biopsy results came back clear and I now have treatment plan.

Lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy, on the 17th of December, followed by radiotherapy and hormone therapy. Possibly chemo but still to be confirmed.

I finally sighed with relief that things are moving forward and not as bad as it seemed.

    How are you getting on?

    Sending hugs xx

  • Excellent news. I spent today in hospital having a bone scan. Radioactive meds injected at 10:30 then scan at 2:30. All went ok.

Next consultation with surgeon is on Friday to get results of scan and hopefully a treatment plan.

Thanks for the hugs. Sending back hugs

  • Hey, it's a lot better when things are moving.

Saves our heads going into overdrive so much.

Hope your consultation comes with more answers and a plan to get moving xx

  • Hi Marue, my results today were very similar to yours.

I'm booked in for lumpectomy on the 17th of December and further treatment afterwards.

It's a relief to have a plan and proper information to go with it.

    Hope your treatment goes well.

    Take care xxx
