New here breast cancer club

Hi everyone this is a club that nobody wants to be in

lets hope we can help each other

l have found practical information hard to find

there is so much that we need to know but over stretched staff dont have time to tell you

i am 66 years old I was diognosed with breast cancer three years ago

it was picked up on a routine mammogram

I didn't have any symptoms at all so checking your breast isn't enough you have to attend screening

it doesn't hurt

it was stage 1 grade 2 I'm still not sure what this means

I have wide spread dcis and a 4mm

invasive ductal tumor

because of the dcis I had to have a full mastectomy and a Sentilal node removal

fortunatly this was all the treatment I had

it's the waiting for results that wears you down

ive just had my 3rd annual mammogram which has totally freaked me out

had the results today all ok

  • Hi Joanie,

I noticed you hadn't had a reply yet so I just wanted to welcome you to Cancer Chat and congratulate you on your results. As you said, the wait can be really tough but I'm really pleased, as I'm sure you are as well, with the good news you've been given.

Hopefully some of our members who have been/embarking on a similar journey will be along soon for a chat but do continue joining in on any other discussions where you think you can help as I'm sure our members will really appreciate your support and advice.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
