21 years later...

Hi!

I’m Lisa (as you’ve probably guessed) and I had breast cancer over 21 years ago.

I was in my late 20’s when diagnosed with BC with a lump in my breast, spread to the lymph nodes and ‘hot spots’ on my ribs.

A lumpectomy, six months of chemo and four weeks of radiotherapy and 21 years later I’m still here.

I’ve never been on any online cancer support forums before so I’m hoping that perhaps talking about my own experiences may help others that are currently dealing with it.

Happy to chat!

  • Hi I’m Margaret

I had thyroid cancer when I was 17. Am now 32 and fine ish lol. I’ve never used any of these kind of support groups or online forums before either but feel like I need people around who have been through it.

  • Hi Lisa

thank you for posting, I have recently been diagnosed in my 20s and have been looking for a ‘good’ ending for weeks - someone who has been clear for a long time :-)

do you mind me asking what cancer you had? Hormone receptor status etc?

Thank you again and pleased to hear you have been clear for so long!

    X

  • I love this post so much, thank-you.  My wife has just finished her treatment for appendix cancer after being diagnosed at 35.  It was an incredibly difficult journey but we've got through it.  It's great to hear others are doing so well now.
