Hi.
I found a lump in my right breast 2 days ago. I’m currently waiting for my appointment date in the breast clinic.
can anyone share anything about what a lump feels like? I’m worried sick
I’m aware it could swing either way and that no matter what it feels like it could be anything.
I’m 44.
The waiting is horrible, have you had a mammogram and or a biopsy ?
Nothing yet. It’ll all be done on the same day.
Where was your lump?
Mine was left breast inside by breast bone but the post op report said it wasn’t 3 separate it was one big tumour .
i had a mastectomy and LD flap reconstruction done on
5th april this year x
So you could feel it easily?
how are you doing since? Are you in the clear yet?
it pains me that this could be something and I’m fit and eat healthily.
On Monday I saw Radiotherapy consultant who said I don’t need radiotherapy as got all out during surgery but because quite big that’s why I’ve been put on hormone therapy for 10 years .
im ok, I still get very tired and still pretty painful in back from surgery but I plod along ok.
unfortunately health doesn’t seem to make much difference, cancer just doesn’t care
How big did it end up being?
Did you have chemotherapy?
It was 73 mm or 2.8 inches , I had chemo I was supposed to have 6 but only had 2 as did a special test called oncofocus which determines if it’ll be of benefit and in my case after bad reactions to first 2 chemos where kept getting infections they stopped it.
This hormone therapy that I’ve just started will do just as good a job so I didnt finish course .
I’m so scared of mastectomies and chemo and being sick and losing my hair. Operations, being poked and prodded at.
None of it is fun but on flip side none of its as bad as you be thinking or not with me.
i had bright red hair before it’s now about 1cm long and mostly white but at least growing. I shaved my head the week I started chemo.
chemo is ok just keep up with anti sickness pills .
There is a lot of prodding and poking but like said originally it’s an absolute whirlwind.
i had biopsy Feb 28th, official diagnosis on March 7th,
and surgery 5th April.
Best advice is don’t think to far ahead take it one day at a time and do your reasearch and talk to people
