I had my surgery in march so a couple of months before you.

At my last check up I mentioned the shooting nerve pains in neck.Dr said they cut through nerves during surgery so its only to be expected due to the nature of the surgery. So I am assuming all the other pains we have earache,facial pain shoulder pain etc are explained away with the same answers.

I find it strange that areas that are numb but can be so painfull. I only recently found that rain hitting my face felt like hundreds of stinging needles,I couldnt wait to get indoors.

From what Ive been told there may be some improvement over time or there may be not. I think its the price we pay for the type of surgery thats done to remove the cancer/tumour.

I would say def ask at your next check about anything thats troubling you. Its difficult to know what is normal and what is not so best to ask I say :-)

I had lumpectomy with sentinel lymph nodes removal back in October 2014. 

I also had pain and numbness in the arm and shoulder for the first 3 months after surgery, but eventually it subsided. You should let your surgeon consultant know about all side effects to make sure you're receiving the best care. Everybody responds differently, I for example, kept doing stretches to make sure I get my mobility back asap. 

Most importantly, take it easy, you will recover. Can't say everything will be the same as before,  because that isn't true, but time and patience will bring some comfort.
