About Lijj69

Hi I'm 51 years of age , i have been with my husband Johnny since I was 13 and we have 3 daughters ,2sons and 2 grandchildren . My dentist found a little white mark under my tongue 2 years ago , which I have had byopsis on , it was removed twice by scrapping and then cut out as had kept growing back . They couldn't explain why it kept coming back . I have never smoked and only drink on very rare occasions . March 2019 had another biopsie which came back with cancer cells , shock doesn't say how I felt .was told best option is to have half my tongue removed and reconstructed with skin off my arm and that replaced with a skin graft . Then to give me the best chance of recovery remove my lymph nodes as had not spread Any were else . So with all my family and friends support I had the opp in May , because I am a bigger lady I had to have a tracheostomy tube , as working in my mouth so I could breath . After 8 hours of surgery I was finished all had gone well , don't think I had really thought to myself what I would feel or look like when I came round . Tubes , drains , staples , was a lot to take in , but very numb and no pain . Think the tracheostomy was the worse with the clearing of airway with suction , was very scary . Think husband liked the not talking bit , I didn't lol . Was going ok but on 3 day had to go back to theatre as got a clot in my neck , that was not good , but was OK after , I spent a week in icu then up to ward for a week . Then begged to go home . All scars are heeling well .
