It's good news that it's a cyst, although it's obviously still painful and might need treatment. 

I'm not aware of any of our regulars who've had this issue, but with this reply, your post will reappear at the top of the list might get spotted by someone who can give you more information.

Continue with the GP and ask to be referred for treatment. You might need a minor operation to drain the cyst so that it heals up and gives you no more trouble.  Please could you update this thread from time to time so that your experiences will help others - even though it's not strictly a cancer topic, it will still be of interest to future readers. 

Thanks - I will run through the process. I should not have left it as long and was putting it off hoping it would go away. Will update on what the outcome will be.

Just had a minor surgery to remove the lump under the skin. Local anesthetic few stitches. They are sending it off for testing. It was not going away by itself. 

Thanks for updating. Fingers crossed that the testing doesn't reveal anything sinister.

mine felt almost like a piece of glass at the time. A local anesthetic and small incision only. The process took about 30 minutes. The a few pain killers for a few days and everything was good. Once you realise it's not going away just get it checked out, take the step to getting it sorted that's the hard part done. The process kicks in from there.
